Santo’s journey began on the side of a busy road, where a kind rescuer found her — alone, frightened, and in pain. She had a large tumor that was bleeding, and it was clear that she had been suffering for a while. The rescuer reached out to us for help, and that’s how Santo’s story with us began.
With our guidance, the rescuer quickly arranged for Santo to be taken to CP Vet Hospital, where the team worked to stop the bleeding and make her comfortable. The very next day, she underwent an emergency surgery during which two tumors were removed from her fragile body.
Even after surgery, Santo carried a lot of trauma. She didn’t want to eat, she didn’t want to interact, and she often curled up quietly in a corner, away from everyone. But healing doesn’t happen in a day — it unfolds slowly, through love, patience, and small, gentle moments.
With time, Santo began to trust again. She started eating a little more, wagging her tail when spoken to, and one day, she joined the others for playtime. That was the moment we knew she was finally coming back to life.
Today, Santo is a happy, cuddly girl who loves attention and company. She eats well, she plays, and she makes sure she gets her share of love from everyone around her. Soon, she’ll be going in for her spay surgery, which may be a bit complicated as there are still two small tumors left that couldn’t be removed earlier. But we know she’ll get through it — she’s already proven how strong she is.
Santo’s story is a reminder of what love, care, and a safe space can do. From being found on the road to finding comfort, safety, and joy — she’s come such a long way. We wish every rescued soul the same kind of recovery, courage, and comfort that Santo has found.
